My Bio
I've been making wings and whimsical things for several years now, lucking upon my current technique through falling in love with a mad scientist.

My creative space is dominated by the chaos of perpetually working on several projects at once. From sewing to embroidery to wing making to painting to twisting willow to sketching to jewellery making to whatever piques my curiosity.

I live with my mad scientist, our two impish daughters and a pair of guinea pigs (who possibly suffer from identity crises)

I earned my Bachelor of Arts- Visual Arts from the Canberra School of Art, ANU, with a major in Sculpture, and minors in Ceramics and Life Drawing. Though I've always had an eye for visual balance and a love for making beautiful things. I also seem to have a bit of a green thumb :)

I adore making wings, and wearing them too. One delicious moment walking through the shops wearing a set of my wings resulted in a delicate little girl whispering to her mama, "Is she real?" to which her mama responded, "Of course she's real!" with a conspiratorial wink to me. My work wakes a sense of wonder in everyone, and there's something precious about seeing a be-winged toddler running around the house saying, "Zoom!" with her arms out straight behind, curls bouncing about all over the place.

I realised I hadn't shared any of my hearing aid pretties here. Given I've had them in production for a few years this was definitely overdue. They've been a fun project, and I'm enjoying the ways they evolve over time as I learn more and test new ideas. They're happily adaptable, working beautifully for adults and children, and I love the idea of helping people feel good about wearing their hearing aids and cochlear implants. I've had wonderful feedback from customers too, which does a lot for the artist's ego. My shop is still pottering along. I've been making many beautiful wings and things. And I still love doing custom pieces.

Halloween Rush

0 min read
The lead up to Halloween tends to see a rush of orders for me. Several sets of ear wings have been bought or custom ordered over the last week so the creative space is a little crazy right now. The sketch of my nephew has had to be put on hold for a little while as I get on top of custom orders. Some of the pieces I've been building have had a remarkable sense of magic about them. I've also been getting myself into a healthier art habit, making drawing and making happen at bare minimum once a week, though usually every second day. It's good to feed the art habit, it helps to feed the soul. I bought some lovely tinted textured papers which I

Feeding my art

0 min read
Lately I've been working to get my hand back in and feed my art. This means I've got another collection of projects going at once. I've been working on a sketch of my nephew from a photo I took of him last year(? I think?). It's in my gallery and it's pretty amazing. I've started a new sketch book to carry with me, with the goal of drawing/being artistic every couple of days, with a bare minimum of once a week. And just the last couple of days I made several sales in my Etsy shop so I'm busy on ear wing commissions. I've also bought some lovely textured faintly tinted paper I'm intending on cutting up to revisit my calligraphic drawings f

Thank you :) I've been rather lax in adding pics lately. Have to get back into the rhythm of it.
No problem, I like good art:) I invite you to my gallery:)If you like my work, watch me :)
Hi. I invite you to my gallery :D
Sounds like fun. You make some really interesting slave-bracelets. :)
Slave-bracelets?
I've always known of the bracelets with chains going to a ring on the finger as slave bracelets :)
