I've been making wings and whimsical things for several years now, lucking upon my current technique through falling in love with a mad scientist.
My creative space is dominated by the chaos of perpetually working on several projects at once. From sewing to embroidery to wing making to painting to twisting willow to sketching to jewellery making to whatever piques my curiosity.
I live with my mad scientist, our two impish daughters and a pair of guinea pigs (who possibly suffer from identity crises)
I earned my Bachelor of Arts- Visual Arts from the Canberra School of Art, ANU, with a major in Sculpture, and minors in Ceramics and Life Drawing. Though I've always had an eye for visual balance and a love for making beautiful things. I also seem to have a bit of a green thumb :)
I adore making wings, and wearing them too. One delicious moment walking through the shops wearing a set of my wings resulted in a delicate little girl whispering to her mama, "Is she real?" to which her mama responded, "Of course she's real!" with a conspiratorial wink to me. My work wakes a sense of wonder in everyone, and there's something precious about seeing a be-winged toddler running around the house saying, "Zoom!" with her arms out straight behind, curls bouncing about all over the place.
